Horses and dogs are traditionally used in the sport of ski-joring. In Abu Dhabi, camels are the recreational beasts of burden. But camel-joring is far from common; GearJunkie correspondent Erik Cooper and fellow adventurer Jacob Vanag recruited a guide and area herders for an afternoon of "sand surfing" in the vast Empty Quarter, the world's largest sand desert. "With a lot of laughs and a few sand-burns, we started to master the sport," Cooper said.
